The Autotrimmer will run for about an hour on a sunny day then take itself back to the charging dock for a recharge. It will cope with a 2,100 square metre garden mapping out the grass between a supplied wire perimeter.

It’s made from 90% recyclable materials but has a £2,000 price tag!

This one is one of the wackiest ideas I’ve seen recently! There are regular meetings of the British Lawn Mower Racing Association throughout the summer finishing in October with the British Grand Prix.

Fast and furious racing is the order of the day. Racing takes place across two fields divided by a hedge with 2 small gaps just wide enough for a mower, though two have been know to get through! A great end to the season.

There are regular get togethers at ‘Noggin and Natter’ evenings at The Cricketers Arms in Wisborough Green where racers discuss their latest racing mowers.

There are also meeting in the US of the U.S. Lawn Mower Racing Association (USLMRA).

So, grab yourself a lawn mower and get racing!
